The apartment is located in Sporgasse, a street i older than Graz itself. Already in Roman times a trade route between the Murtal and the Roman province Colonia Claudia Savaria ran here. Today, Sporgasse is one of the main pedestrian and shopping streets in the city. In hardly any other street can you read the architectural history of Graz as well as in Sporgasse. At the corner of the main square is the baroque Luegg house with its mighty facade and the arcade. Opposite is an Art Nouveau building with floral decorations and medallions with women's heads, some in gold.
